Whilst undertaking his Ph.D., Nathan started to dabble with developing applications for both the Windows and Windows Phone operating systems. He currently has around 15 apps in his portfolio which have been published in their respective app stores. His portfolio includes an AuroraWatch UK app, which informs users of the current magnetic disturbance level in the UK and alerts them as to when the aurora may be visible from the UK (and similar latitudes).
Nathan has enjoyed cycling in and around Lancaster (when the weather has permitted!), though it is definitely more of a hobby than an obsession! He is also always keen for a kick around (football/soccer) or a spot of tennis when the sun shines.
